Victor & Percy

Say Hello to Victor and Percy

Victor Voltage and Percy Pipe are now at the heart of Country & Town’s promotional activities in 2010. The fictitious characters are apprentices who have just started a training programme with the company. Victor Voltage is studying to be an electrician and Percy Pipe a plumber.

Victor and Percy

The idea originated from feedback from plumbers and electricians who returned from domestic jobs saying that they had an audience whilst they were working. Children had insisted on seeing what was being done once the toolbox was open, forcing parents to stand with them. This helped to build a rapport with the parents and encouraged repeat business. The plumbers and electricians joked with the parents that they had taken on new apprentices, the idea stuck and soon developed into Victor Voltage and Percy Pipe. Victor is on the left with the fair hair, Percy is the one wearing the baseball cap.

Victor and Percy now appear on press advertising, company stationary, promotional material and on a company vehicle. Victor and Percy will feature in a series of children's books called "The Adventures of Victor and Percy". The first book "Percy Pulls the Plug" will be launched in Spring 2010. This will have a reading age suitable for secondary school children and might help parents encourage their children to take up a rewarding career as electricians or plumbers.

The Victor and Percy website www.victorandpercy.com is now live.
